The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity has streamlined the process of posting jobs to the Pure Michigan Talent Connect site for employers. Please complete the form at the following link if you are a business that provides critical infrastructure as outlined by the Governors Executive Order and have immediate job openings. Once approved, the job will automatically post to Pure Michigan Talent Connect and will be promoted on the Michigan Talent Connect COVID-19 Job Portal page. https://forms.leo.state.mi.us/intake/ April 2, 2020 — Many Michigan workers have been furloughed or laid off as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic. As we near the busy spring planting season, many companies in Michigan agriculture are actively seeking employees to fill many different types of jobs, both on a seasonal and full-time basis. The Michigan Agri-Business Association (MABA) is partnering with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) to help link agribusinesses with those who are looking for work. We are working together to post and promote agricultural jobs through the Pure Michigan Talent Connect (PMTC) portal. This is the State of Michigan’s labor exchange system to provide job seekers and employers with an online portal to post, search and connect to job openings. PMTC is being used across multiple sectors to showcase work opportunities for those who have lost their job. LEO assigned dedicated staff to streamline the process and help agribusinesses use PMTC to post jobs. In addition, MABA will work with our members to promote this tool for people to access agricultural job postings across Michigan. Here’s what businesses need to do in order to participate: Create an employer account on MiTalent.org. If you have an employer account and it is not active, please click “forgot password” and follow the steps to reactivate your account. Email Kara Boring at kara@miagbiz.org and Tangie Jones at JonesT33@michigan.gov to notify us and LEO you started the process. This will enable LEO to streamline the approval process for your company and answer any questions you may have. Add one or more postings to PMTC. When you post a job, please use the checkbox in step 3 to mark your posting as a COVID-19 opening. The job(s) will be promoted on PMTC’s COVID-19 job portal page. Please see the example here.
