May 13, 2020 – Chuck Lippstreu, president of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, issued the following statement on today’s hearing of the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee that examined the state of broadband in light of the COVID-19 pandemic:

“The Michigan Agri-Business Association appreciates U.S. Senator Gary Peters and the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation for their efforts to close the digital divide and expand high-speed, reliable rural broadband connections. The COVID-19 pandemic has shined an even brighter spotlight on the importance of reliable, high-speed broadband connectivity for the economic success of small towns and rural communities. We thank the Committee and Senator Peters for raising awareness of this important issue.”
