Guidance on EO Regarding Pesticide Certifications

April 17, 2020 — Governor Whitmer this morning issued an Executive Order extending permits for commercial applicators, private applicators, and registered applicators that were set to expire on December 31, 2019 until 60 days after the end of the declared states of emergency and disaster.

You can view the Executive Order (2020-52) at this link.

We highly encourage you to read the accompanying FAQ document that was provided by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, available here.

Please note the order does not allow for non-certified “apprentice” applicators and it does not allow for testing of new initial applicators until testing is resumed after the emergency. However. this is a very positive development for those whose existing licenses were not able to be renewed. We appreciate the Governor and MDARD for prioritizing the issue and reaching a resolution on it.
