January 11, 2024 | Members of the Michigan Agri-Business Association (MABA), a trade association representing nearly 300 companies spanning the food and agriculture value chain, named Jon Rush with BASF as the organization’s 2024 Chairman. The Association named additional new officers and Board members at its annual business meeting. “The Michigan Agri-Business Association plays a pivotal leadership role as a voice for our state’s agricultural industry, and I am honored to step up as chairman this year,” said Rush. “The Association continues to be a world-class resource for many of us in agriculture. We have a responsibility to keep growing MABA and to make sure it remains a dependable resource for the next generation of industry professionals.” “Our Association is only as strong as the participation of members from across the state, and I thank Jon Rush for continually stepping up to help steer our work,” said MABA President Chuck Lippstreu. “I look forward to working with Jon and all of our incoming leaders to ensure MABA remains a strong voice and dedicated advocate for Michigan Agriculture.” Rush, who serves as Area Sales Manager at BASF covering Michigan and Ohio, has worked in the agricultural industry for more than two decades and has been a Michigan Certified Crop Adviser since 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management from Michigan State University and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. MABA officers for 2024 will be: Jon Rush (Board Chair), Area Sales Manager for Michigan and Ohio with BASF John Tilt (1st Vice Chair), General Manager of Vita Plus Corporation’s Gagetown, MI feed mill Michelle Bergman (2nd Vice Chair), Vice President of Grain at Cooperative Elevator Co. In addition, Edwin Benkert Jr. with Nutrien Ag Solutions and Adam Geers with Michigan Agricultural Commodities, Inc. were named to serve on the board.
