June 24, 2020 — Chuck Lippstreu, president of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, made the following statement today following approval by the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee of the U.S. Grain Standards Reauthorization Act of 2020: “The U.S. Grain Standards Act provides certainty for farmers, grain handlers, end users and consumers in Michigan and across our nation. It is integral to our agricultural system and the United States’ position as a leading grain exporter. The Michigan Agri-Business Association commends Senator Debbie Stabenow, Senator Pat Roberts and the entire U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee for their bipartisan effort to reauthorize this important legislation for another five years. With some Grain Standards Act provisions expiring September 30, 2020, we encourage the full U.S. Senate to approve this reauthorization without delay.” # # #
